Annual General Meeting

Annual General Meetings (AGMs)

ZICUSO BC holds its Annual General Meeting (AGM) once every year, in accordance with the requirements of the Society Act of British Columbia. The AGM is an important event in the organization’s calendar and provides an opportunity for members, stakeholders, and the public to stay informed, get involved, and help shape the future of the organization.

The primary purposes of the AGM are as follows:

  1. Presentation of Annual Reports
The Board and Executive Team present detailed reports on the society’s activities, programs, finances, and overall operations over the past year. This ensures transparency and accountability to our members, funders, and community partners.
  2. Election or Nomination of Officers
Members vote to elect or nominate individuals to serve on the Board of Directors or in other leadership roles. This democratic process ensures leadership renewal and community representation within the organization.
  3.  Appointment or Retention of an Auditor
The meeting includes a formal decision on whether to appoint or retain an external auditor or independent financial reviewer, as required for financial oversight and compliance with funding obligations.
  4. Review and Approval of Bylaw Amendments (if applicable)
Any proposed changes to the society’s bylaws are presented, discussed, and voted on. Bylaw amendments require membership approval to be enacted.
  5. General Business
The AGM may also address other relevant business matters brought forward by the board or membership. This could include updates on strategic direction, partnerships, community feedback, or emerging priorities for the society.

All members and invited guests are encouraged to attend the AGM to contribute their voices, stay updated on ZICUSO BC’s work, and help guide the organization into the future. Meeting details, including agenda, date, and location, are shared in advance through official communications.
