I visited the farm today on my way from work.
I parked the car in the parking grassy area near the eastern corner. Plenty of parking and the car does not get muddy there. There is a footbridge one uses to cross the trench.
I walked to the area that was first planted and the germinating corn was very visible. I was impressed and made a fist pump accompanied by a loud yeah! I don’t know how to describe the feeling of sowing and seeing life coming out of the ground after a few days of anticipation. It is the potential of the yield right there in front of you. Exhilarating.
Not all seeds are out of the ground but they keep increasing daily. So are the weeds. There is a huge germination of weeds.
I have ordered a sprayer that will come tomorrow Friday. I will be looking for fertilizer as well as herbicides tomorrow too.
The vegetable seedlings are coming up in numbers too. Next week will be busy. However, the vegetable beds need to be prepared.
For the vegetables already in the ground, there is a need for manure because they are turning pale. That is more work.
